Beating Prostate Cancer Starts Before Diagnosis
The American Prostate Cancer Foundation (APCF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by physicians to close the gap between conventional medicine and evidence-based holistic care. We educate patients and equip men and their families with the tools to prevent, detect, and treat prostate cancer before it’s too late.
Vision: A world where no man loses his life to prostate cancer because he lacked access, awareness, or options.
Mission: APCF educates patients on integrative treatment options and advocates for cost-effective, whole-person care that improves outcomes and quality of life for men with prostate cancer and those at risk.
What We Do:
- Prevent — Educate men and families to seek screening early, when intervention has the greatest impact on survival.
- Empower — Connect patients and survivors with evidence-based conventional and complementary treatments (including yoga, holistic nutrition, and mind-body therapies), and encourage them to participate in their own healing actively.
- Advance — Collaborate with research institutions and nonprofits to integrate lifestyle medicine into standard cancer care, improving outcomes across communities.
Review all your treatment options, including their goals and possible side effects, with your doctors and family to choose the option that best fits your needs.
“Your oncologist may not know everything that can help you. Complementary approaches — nutrition, yoga, targeted supplementation — are not alternatives to treatment. They make treatment work better.”
